Source | Goodbye Seattle. Hello New Seattle. Home of the zombies, mecca for people trying to save their loved ones, and home base for the next season of The CW series. We got a chance to speak with iZombie’s Rose McIver at San Diego Comic-Con about New Seattle and the challenges her character would face as people chose sides.
Liv isn’t just going to fall in line. She understands that zombies need to be protected from humans in New Seattle. But she remembers being a human and will not pick one over the other just because things have become tense.
“She is kind of rebel of sorts and she’s seen as a rebel by Fillmore Graves and by the community now. They’re in this walled city and she isn’t sure that it’s so fair that people shouldn’t be allowed to be scratched and turned into zombies.”
It’s going to lead to a politically charged season where your stance on zombie rights could define you or put you in a difficult position with those you love. In Liv’s case, that person is Major. He’s decided to back Fillmore Graves while she’s decided to walk away from them.
“For Liv and Major, I think that going forward…they’re very three dimensional characters. They don’t just think the same, feel the same, because they love each other. It’s gonna be very challenging. I hope that they’re able to maintain some sort of love for each other and ultimately get through that.”
