productimg-1368896897In 2010, to pay her bills, among several acting jobs, Rose McIver was doing some babysitting and worked part-time importing bananas with Fair Trade. She worked with ‘All Good Bananas‘  but also did a promotional campaign for them (video below).

The message ((“Know who I am? I’m that inner voice. I want to talk to you about something, something really important – Fair Trade. Choosing them means you’re helping growers feed their families and support their communities. They get paid a fair price. So now you know which ones to choose, make a good choice”) voiced by Kiwi actress Rose McIver is intended to prick customers’ consciences and get them to consider the fair trade product.

In 2014, Rose McIver took part on the ‘NOH8 Campaign’.

On November 4, 2008 Proposition 8 passed in California, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. The defeat provoked a groundswell of initiative within the GLBT community at a grassroots level, with many new political and protest organizations being formed in response.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8” painted on one cheek in protest.

2020 - #Donation4NavajoNationChallenge

May 2020, Rose McIver shared this photo via her Instagram account to support #Donation4NavajoNationChallenge challenge.

Thanks to my awesome mate and Navajo woman, @tazbah for nominating me for this.  The Navajo (Diné) Nation is home to 175,000 people, all of whom are grossly endangered by the staggering spread of COVID-19 across their homeland. Currently the Navajo Nation has more cases of COVID-19 than 8 U.S. states. In an effort to raise funds for Navajo organizations working on the front lines fighting to help those impacted, I invite you to join me in taking the #Donation4NavajoNationChallenge!

It’s easy: Share a pic of yourself holding a sign that reads: #Donation4NavajoNationChallenge then donate to the link in my bio. The number 4 is very important to the Navajo people so please challenge 4 friends. Donate, post and challenge all 4 the Navajo Nation!
I’ve made my donation and I now ask the following 4 people to take the challenge with me: @madeleinesami @fullyrosebyrne @lyndsyfonseca @harri_harri
