Things are about to get kinky on iZombie… Or at least, Liv (Rose McIver) sure would like them to be kinky, thanks to the latest brain she ate.

I visited the Vancouver set of iZombie, as this week’s new episode, “Fifty Shades of Grey Matter,” was being filmed, and watched a very funny scene being filmed, in which Major (Robert Buckley) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) are interrupted by Liv, who has some very uncharacteristic suggestions for the two of them.

As Malcolm Goodwin (“Clive”) explained, with a laugh, about what’s happened to Liv, “She eats horny librarian brain… or sexy librarian brain… but it’s really horny librarian brain, that’s really what it is.”

“Liv is in heat in this episode,” Goodwin remarked. “It’s very, very different from the second episode [of Season 1], with Javier. This is very different. This is very sensual. This librarian was also a writer who wrote romance novels.”

He added, “Rose is so great with it!”

Said McIver, of filming the episode, “It’s a lot of fun. It’s very tongue in cheek. Liv, innately, I wouldn’t think of as a sexpot. She has a strong sexuality, but it’s slightly more organic and it’s fun to see her play with this literotica kind of world. I actually hadn’t read any of the 50 Shades of Gray books or anything but I mean, I know how popular they are, and I know enough about what that world is, so I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

As for the reactions Liv is getting, McIver noted, “Ravi is terrified! This is like his sister. So having somebody who feels like his sister saying some of the things that she does to him is pretty alarming. And I think for anyone who doesn’t know she’s a zombie, it’s very unsettling. She’s definitely got this fairly overpowering kind of energy.”

On top of that, Goodwin noted, “A lot of things develop in this episode. I don’t know how much I can give away, but a lot of the storylines really crash [together] in this.”

iZombie: “Fifty Shades of Grey Matter” airs Tuesday, February 2nd on the CW at 9:00pm ET/PT.

My name is Stephanie. Being a (french) fan of Rose McIver, I noticed that no French or English website was created about her to support her projects & promote her wonderful work. In 2013, I decided to create the first site (not in French) but in English to reach a wider audience. In May 2017, I met Rose McIver at the 'Fairy Tales 5' con in Paris.
